When and where is the 2nd Fall Dance?

The Fall Dance will take place on Saturday, September 10th, from 7 to 10 pm, at Grace United Methodist Church, 2113 Old Monrovia Road, Huntsville, AL, 35806.

How much are tickets and how do I get tickets for T.H.E. Fall Dance?

Fall Dance ticket prices will be $15 from July 29th through August 12th.  On August 13th, tickets are $20.  All ticket sales end on September 8th.  No tickets will be sold the evening of the dance. You may purchase tickets online at http://timeless-homeschool-events.ticketleap.com/the-fall-dance-2016.

When can I purchase my ticket?

Tickets may be purchased beginning July 29th, 2016 by all homeschool students and their guests. No preferential days are given to Seniors or Juniors for the Fall Dance.

Is there a deadline for purchasing tickets? Can I just get my tickets at the door on Fall Dance night?

The deadline for purchasing tickets is September 8th, or until sold out, whichever is first. After this date, no tickets will be sold to anyone for any reason. Tickets will not be sold at the Fall Dance. Anyone arriving without having purchased a ticket will not be allowed access to the dance.

Tickets are expected to sell quickly.  We periodically announce how many tickets are still available on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/TheFallDance/timeline.

If you don’t have a ticket, then you don’t have a ticket. Please make sure you have purchased a ticket. Do not depend on someone else to have purchased your ticket. Tickets may be printed out and brought with you or you can show your ticket image on your handheld phone or touch at check-in.

How will I check in at the dance?

When you order your ticket, Ticket Leap will give you a few ticket options. You will receive a link with a QR code (a type of barcode). You can print this code out and bring it with you or display it on your smart phone. Alternatively, you can download the Ticket Leap app and create a Selfie Ticket to display on your smart phone at check in.

What if we have a change of plans and cannot attend? Can I get a refund?

All ticket sales are final; there are no refunds for ticket sales.  Tickets may be transferred to another attendee prior to September 8, 2016.
If you need to transfer a ticket, please let us know as soon as soon as possible at [email protected].

Who can attend the Fall Dance? Do I have to be homeschooled?

All homeschoolers who are in high school (9th through 12th grade,) regardless of church cover school or address, are invited to attend the Huntsville Homeschool Fall Dance. As a high school homeschooled student, you may invite up to two non-homeschooled guests. For every attendee, the minimum age is 14, and no one may be older than 20 on the night of Fall Dance.

Anyone who, as a homeschooled Senior, attended the Prom and graduated high school may attend the Fall Dance. So, if you attended the 2016 Prom as a Senior and graduated high school, you are invited to purchase a ticket and attend the 2016 Fall Dance. (And we’d love to see you again!) You may also invite up to two non-homeschooled guests, as long as they fall within the age restrictions.

How do I let you know who my non-homeschooled guests are?

As stated above, you can invite up to two non-homeschooled guests. These guests will need to purchase the non-homeschooler ticket. Your non-homeschooled guests will be asked who invited them, and they will have a place to fill in your name. Be sure to only invite up to two. Only two non-homeschooled guests per person will be admitted – any others will not be allowed to attend the dance and will not have their tickets refunded. If you need to transfer tickets, you can send us an e-mail before September 8th to [email protected].

Do I have to be a member of a certain church cover school or co-op group to attend T.H.E. Fall Dance?

The Huntsville Homeschool Fall Dance is an inclusive event; any homeschooler is invited regardless of church cover school. We have a number of different church cover schools represented by members of our Planning Committee, and we have many different church cover schools represented by students attending our events. We have had homeschool students come from all over Alabama, including Toney, Elkmont, Albertville, Florence, Birmingham, Montgomery…. and from Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida!

Do I have to have a date to attend T.H.E. Fall Dance? Do most kids come alone or with someone else?

A date? Absolutely not required! Guests come with a group of friends, with one friend, with his/her siblings, cousins… or with a date. Several church schools and co-ops have teens that come in a group.

Is there a dress code? Is this a formal event?

Yes, this occasion is a dressy casual/semi-formal event.  For gentlemen, appropriate attire includes seasonal sport coat or blazer, and pants with dress shirt, casual button-down shirt, open collar or polo shirt, with ties optional. Absolutely no jeans, t-shirts, or athletic shoes. Attire for the ladies includes dresses, skirts and dressy tops or dressy pant outfits. Dresses should be appropriately modest. The Planning Committee leaves this decision to the ladies and their parents. When shopping for your dress, please be sure to find something that is not only comfortable to wear but that will stay in place while dancing.

We do not allow any attire that in any way resembles or reflects violence, indecency, or anything illegal. Anyone wearing such attire will be turned away at the door and will not be refunded for their ticket.

Can my parents stay to watch T.H.E. Fall Dance?

No. This is the teens’ special night, not the parents’. We parents had our school dances some time ago… We know that many teens come from out-of-town with their parents in order to attend the Huntsville Homeschool Fall Dance. There are numerous options for parents to enjoy in the nearby area before returning to pick up their teens at 10:00.

Will there be a professional photographer at T.H.E. Fall Dance?

No. You may bring your phone and take all the pictures you want.  Timeless Homeschool Events will be taking pictures for the purpose of advertisement throughout the dance. By attending you are consenting to use of your picture as part of our publicity.

What kind of music will be played at T.H.E. Fall Dance? Can I make requests?

Music for the Fall Dance will be provided by professional DJs from Your Perfect Party, who will play a variety of songs. There will be no profanity; radio-edits of songs will be played. The Planning Committee (comprised of parents and teens) works closely with the DJ to ensure no offensive music is played. You may make song requests by sending an email to: [email protected]; the Committee will consider all requests for appropriateness.

Will there be anything to eat at T.H.E. Fall Dance?

Yes, light snacks will be provided. Lemonade and water will be available throughout the evening.

Will there be chaperones at T.H.E. Fall Dance?

Yes, there will be chaperones at the Fall Dance. Chaperones are selected from adult volunteers at the sole discretion of the Planning Committee. Generally, only those involved in the Fall Dance committee are allowed to serve as chaperones. If you would like to serve as a chaperone for the Fall Dance, please contact [email protected]..

Are attendees allowed to come and go as they please? Can I leave to run to McDonald’s (or anywhere) and return to T.H.E. Fall Dance?

No one is allowed to leave the building and return to the Fall Dance. Once an attendee or guest leaves the dance, they are not allowed to return since it is out of the control of the Fall Dance committee and Chaperones as to what occurs while off site. Everyone checks in as they arrive, verifies an emergency contact number, and must check out if they leave before 9:30. To help ensure the safety of all our guests, the Fall Planning Committee members will contact the parents of anyone leaving the Fall Dance before 9:30, regardless of their age. At 10:00 when the last song is over, all guests will be allowed to leave the venue without being formally checked out. Those guests being picked up by parents will remain at the building for their car and those driving will walk to their cars.

My parents would like to help somehow… what can they do?

The biggest thing parents (and teens) can do to help is to read these FAQs and adhere to these rules. Once you purchase your ticket, you are bound by those rules. If you have any questions, please ask us for clarification before the Fall Dance night –we’re crazy busy that night!
Parents, if your teen enjoys the Fall Dance, please consider joining the Committee next year and staying on board until all your children have graduated. We truly want this event to become a long-standing tradition in our area.
If you would like to join the Fall Dance committee, please send an email to [email protected]. We will be in touch to let you know what positions we have open.

Are there any other rules or guidelines I should know about?

As few as possible…. But, we do have to have some to keep the Fall Dance a safe, secure, and comfortable place for everyone.

The Huntsville Homeschool Fall Dance has a ZERO tolerance policy for any alcohol, drugs, smoking, or misconduct. Our chaperones will escort anyone necessary from the dance and parents will be notified.
NO weapons, including any kind of gun or knife, of any sort, any kind, in any form are allowed on the premises for any reason whatsoever.
Public displays of affection are unacceptable. This includes sitting on laps, making out, inappropriate dancing (grinding, moshing, dirty dancing, twerking, etc.)
Outside food and drink are not allowed.
Any complaints or concerns should be brought directly to a Planning Committee member or chaperone.
Enjoy yourself and be considerate of everyone else!

Ack! I still have questions…

Really? We can still help! Please send any unanswered questions to: [email protected] and we will answer them as soon as possible.
